About Black Hole
A small window into a very strange corner of space. Thousands of streaks orbit a dark event horizon, glowing warm near the center and cool at the edge. Every ten simulation seconds, the scene moves into another state: a stable singularity, a turbulent disk, then a bright inward collapse. This interactive interpretation of A Singularity’s Life brings the three-state particle experiment to Play Weird with manual controls. There is no score and no finish line. Stay for another orbit.
How to Play
Drag to orbit the black hole. Scroll or pinch to zoom, or focus the scene and use the arrow keys and plus/minus keys. Choose Stable, Turbulence, or Collapse to hold that state; choosing a state resumes time and switches off Auto cycle. Turn Auto cycle back on for the full loop. Pause freezes time while you can still look around. Time scale changes the pace, Orbit toggles the rotating camera, and Reset view restores the cinematic framing. Fullscreen gives the black hole the whole window.

FAQ
- Is this a scientific simulation?
- It is an artistic visualization inspired by accretion, Doppler brightness, and black hole imagery. The displayed mass and velocities describe the visual presets, not measured astrophysical data. It does not solve general relativity or trace physically accurate gravitational lensing.
- Can I explore on my phone?
- Yes. Drag with one finger and pinch with two fingers on the scene. The state and time controls work by touch. Scroll the page outside the scene.
- Why did the animation start paused?
- If your device requests reduced motion, the observatory starts with time and camera rotation paused. Press Resume when you want to start the simulation.
- Why is the 3D view unavailable?
- The view needs a browser with WebGL 2 and hardware acceleration. If the graphics context is interrupted, use Try again to rebuild the scene.
