THE IDEA
About Screenwalker
One pleasant street. One very distracting phone. Screenwalker is an original Play Weird arcade game about trying to pay attention to two things at once. Walk down a sunlit, textured neighborhood sidewalk while a little rooftop courier races across the phone in your hands. Dodge street hazards and jump over gaps on your screen. Either world can end your walk. How far can your divided attention take you?
How to Play
Choose Start Walking. Use A and D or Left and Right to move between three street lanes. Press Space, W or Up to jump in Pocket Hop, the game on your phone. On a touchscreen, swipe horizontally to dodge and tap to jump. A swipe never triggers a jump. Turn your device sideways for the widest view. Choose Fullscreen or press F inside the game to expand it. Press Escape or P, or use Pause, to stop both games. Choose Keep Walking to resume. Notifications cover part of the phone without stopping it. Your score is distance survived; your best stays in this browser. Retry starts a fresh walk.
GOOD TO KNOW
FAQ
- Do both games run at the same time?
- Yes. The street and phone share one clock. Hitting a street hazard or failing a phone jump ends the whole run.
- Does Screenwalker work on mobile?
- Yes. Use horizontal swipes to dodge and quick taps to jump. Landscape gives you the widest view of the street and phone; portrait also works. Use Fullscreen for more space, or pause to scroll the page. Your browser needs WebGL 2.
- How does the difficulty increase?
- Early dangers alternate so you have time to look between worlds. As you survive, speed increases and the attention director allows closer actions. After 90 seconds you enter Chaos Mode.
- Where is my high score saved?
- Only in local storage in this browser. There is no account or backend. If storage is blocked, you can still play and retry.
- Is this an original game?
- Screenwalker is an independent Play Weird interpretation of the multitasking gameplay idea popularized by Double Dodgers. Its code, street geometry, illustrated runner, phone, artwork, notifications and sound effects are original. The soundtrack was generated for Screenwalker with AI. The pavement uses a CC0 texture from Poly Haven.
